Plant Lady Cowl Kit (Yarn + Pattern)

The Plant Lady Cowl is a single skein lace cowl with leaves and twig bundles that I created as I formed relationships with my plant neighbors in my new home after leaving Alaska. With a combination of only five different stitches, the leaves and twig bundles of the Plant Lady Cowl can be created. The pattern contains both charted and written instructions. Because it's only a single skein of DK weight yarn, this cowl is perfect for that one skein we can’t help but add to our cart. Plus it's exactly what's needed for cool spring evenings.

Every day, we walk past healing herbs growing near us and with us. Plantain, clover, lemon balm, and dandelion have all been loved by our feet as we walk along the grass. We add herbs to our soup and sing songs of Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme when we don’t feel well. We fill empty jars with flowers and hang them to dry to bring color into our lives. We turn herbs into tea to energize and strengthen us.

Upon moving to a city, I started to feel detached from the plant world. But I am learning. I don’t have to live in a cabin in the forest to have a relationship with the plants around me. There are many healing plants just outside my apartment window that are present with me now. This cowl, with its repeating leaf and bundle of stems pattern, is my reminder that I am a part of Nature - even in the city.
