Inspired by our Library Semisolids, the Academia Collection is a compilation of THREE knit beanie designs by the amazing Beth @thingsbethmakes. This kit listing comes with one, two and three-skein options - so you can make one, two or all three beanies! The yarn is dyed on our Bifrost Bulky base - a scrumptious 3-ply SW Merino with excellent yardage (106y per skein) and stunning texture.

ABOUT THE DESIGNS:

The Academia Collection Pattern Booklet includes pattern instructions for the Boolean Beanie, Quarto Toque, and the LexisNexis. Patterns range from beginner friendly to intermediate difficulty, though I truly believe any pattern can be completed by a beginner if they have enough enthusiasm. Pattern includes written instructions only.

Boolean Beanie: 95 (105)y or 87 (96)m

Quarto Toque: C1 65 (70) C2 25 (28) C3 25 (28)y or C1 60 (64) C2 23 (26) C3 23 (26)m

LexisNexis: MC 68 (75)y, CC 38 (42)y or MC 62 (69)m, CC 35 (39)m

Yarn usage will vary if you do not meet gauge as indicated in the pattern.

In addition to Bulky weight yarn, you will need size 10US/6.0mm (10.5US/6.5mm) 16” circular needles (or size needed to meet gauge), size 10/6.0mm (10.5US/6.5mm) DPNs, a darning needle, and a stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round.

Finished Sizes: 16”, (18.5”) designed to fit with 2-5” negative ease. Samples shown are 16” worn with 5” negative ease.

Due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, skeins can differ slightly both between and within dye lots. Alternating skeins is recommended.

While I do my best to both capture and portray accurate colourways, please note that there may be differences due to monitors.

Despite fully exhausting, washing and rinsing all skeins, to remove excess dye, some bleeding may still occur. Hand washing yarn is recommended - in cold water to limit the bleeding - and lay flat to dry.


Please note that all yarn is dyed in a pet-friendly household.
